The San Francisco Umbrella Company was founded in 2012 by Marc Alan Brown, our Rainmaker-in-Chief.  Our goal is to make beautiful, high-quality umbrellas in the tradition of the finest European and Asian umbrella makers. 

 

DOG BREED AND ANIMAL THEME UMBRELLAS

Our first collection included 11 dog breed themes and 1 cat each in stunning colors and simple designs.  Adopted by animal lovers worldwide as soon as they appeared we have worked since then to improve the quality of our umbrellas, the materials and construction, and to refine the designs.  Now with 40 animal themes we have created a powerful brand in the pet and zoo markets.  The San Francisco animal theme umbrellas are the most popular decorated umbrellas in the world.

THE SUN AND RAIN PERSONAL UMBRELLAS with Sunbrella Fabric™

Since we are based on Russian Hill in San Francisco we are in the center of world changing innovation.  We have always believed that people need truly effective sun-protective umbrellas (parasols).  To that end, we have partnered with Sunbrella™, a brand of Glen Raven of North Carolina, to make the Blue Jean Sun and Rain Personal Umbrella and the Orange Sunset Sun and Rain Personal Umbrella.  These "personal sized" umbrellas are 10 inches shorter than a standard stick umbrella and the canopy is 7 inches smaller in diameter which makes them more portable and lightweight.  The Sunbrella™ fabric is approved by the American Skin Cancer Society as a 99% effective shield against the harmful rays of the sun.  And yet they are also excellent rain umbrellas.  We are very proud to offer these wonderful new products.
